Connecticut Coalition for Environmental Justice will host their 6th Annual Environmental Justice Conference in October. This year’s theme is "Price of Oil: Paying with Our Health," and workshops will include "Peak Oil," "Oil: Cradle to Grave," "Climate Change and Global Injustice," and “Energy Alternatives/Rebates–How You Can Stop Dependency."
The featured speaker will be Wilma Subra, President of Subra Company and a chemist and well-known activist residing in Louisiana, who will address current environmental justice issues, especially regarding the BP oil spill. Lisa Garcia, Senior Advisor on Environmental Justice at the EPA, will discuss relevant federal policy issues.

Restore America's Estuaries is pleased to announce the Call for Dedicated Sessions, Presentations, and Posters for the 5th National Conference on Coastal and Estuarine Habitat Restoration--Preparing for Climate Change: Science, Practice, and Policy.
We invite you to be a part of the only national conference that focuses exclusively on coastal habitat restoration. Healthy coasts and estuaries are essential to the social, economic, ecological wellbeing of everything that depends on them. Successful habitat restoration at all scales is critical to ensuring vibrant coasts. The Conference will bring timely national attention to the challenges and opportunities for restoration and will bring together a unique blend of people involved in policy, outreach, science, strategy, business, and on-the-ground restoration work.
The deadline for Sessions, Presentations, and Posters is March 2, 2010.

The International Coastal Cleanup is September 25, 2010, but beach cleanups happen all year long.
Save the Sound is Connecticut’s coordinator for Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), the world’s largest single-day volunteer effort of its kind. Save the Sound will be supporting cleanup events throughout the entire season. We can use volunteers at any of the cleanups listed below.
