HELP US TAKE CARE OF THE AIR UP THERE.
Air is vital for our survival. It's all around us; the essence of life on Earth. Sadly, air pollution threatens our planet's future well being. Air pollution contributes directly to global warming, as well as having negative health effects on people.
To promote clean air, the Connecticut Fund for the Environment works to encourage government oversight, constituency development and media outreach. In addition, we look to foster tighter regulations for harmful diesel emissions, while seeking efficient, effective solutions for air pollution transport. Our aim is to educate on sources of the pollution, the health effects on people, and effective pollution control strategies.
A breath of fresh air
The Connecticut Fund for the Environment continues to propel the state's clean air efforts. We raise awareness of how ozone emissions cause global warming, which in turn leads to poorer air quality that threatens everyone's breathing, especially asthmatics. With our support, the diesel bill, Special Act 05-7, establishes a Connecticut Clean Diesel Plan for reducing diesel pollution from the transportation sector. We promote smart transit programs to encourage public transportation and carpooling to cut down on harmful vehicle emissions.
We can't do it alone. You can help by spreading the word about the dangers of air pollution, finding creative ways to limit emissions, and getting involved in our clean air programs. Be the wind beneath our wings! All we need is the air that we breathe...and you. Click on the links below to discover more.
