MAKE A BIG SPLASH IN HELPING TO SAVE OUR WATER.
We simply cannot live without water. It's essential for life; the undercurrent of our ecosystem. Unfortunately, polluted water has a negative ripple effect on all living creatures. It ruins the water we use for drinking, fishing and at home and play. Unclean water also muddles up transportation and businesses.
To keep our water pure and viable, Connecticut Fund for the Environment helps to pass federal and state clean water and safe drinking water laws. We provide support for municipal wastewater treatment plants, while promoting statewide pollution prevention efforts. Our programs are designed to protect watersheds and sources of drinking water.
Clean Water Works in Connecticut!
One of Connecticut Fund for the Environment's biggest initiatives is the Clean Water Works program, which concentrates on preventing sewage in water and stormwater pollution. The combination of raw sewage overflows and stormwater pollution shuts down scores of rivers, streams and beaches throughout the state. Our efforts focus on creating innovative solutions for local towns to quell the polluted runoff. We must achieve a consistent state investment in the Clean Water Fund to reach the goal of sewage-free water by 2020.
We need your help to clean up our waters and prevent pollution. It might seem like a drop in the bucket, but everyone's collective contributions can lead to a truly watershed event in Connecticut.
