Keeping It Green Ep. 7 – Clean Car Standards

Episode #7: Clean Car Standards

Under the federal Clean Air Act, we have national regulations for motor vehicles. But the law also authorizes California to set separate standards, and other states to adopt those standards. This episode explains how Connecticut adopted California’s Advanced Clean Cars Program, which (1) reduces smog forming pollution, (2) reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and (3) promotes zero emission vehicles. It also explains how the leadership of states like California and Connecticut led to the development of new, nationally applicable standards for vehicle emissions, including greenhouse gas emissions.
